Got a nice looking homestead quarter this week but I didn't get to keep it long. My wife saw it in my hand asked to look at it. This was followed by her saying oh I don't have this one yet and slapped it in a 2x2. I'm pretty sure I will never see it again. I've created a monster. Lol

It took six months, but I finally got a couple of 2015 quarters in change. I received from a vending machine: a Homestead and a Blue Ridge Parkway quarter.
Now I've finally received one of each of the common circulating coins for '15: cent, nickel, dime, and quarter.

Well, it's more than half way through 2015 and I'm still waiting to find several of the 2015 coins. So far, I HAVE FOUND both 'P' and 'D' cents and dimes, but no nickels yet. Are they going to be like the 2009's? (Still haven't found a 2009-P)
The quarters have also been hiding from me. I've only found two types: a Nebraska-P and a North Carolina-D. The big surprise was finding the 'D', as I'm still looking for three of the 2014 D's.

Got my first 2015 coins this week, a P and D cent and a P dime, The cents are about right. this is about when the first ones show up, but the dime surprised me. I wasn't expecting to see one of those till sometime next year. (still haven't seen a 2013 or 2014 dime)

Is it just me or do the new quarters have an unusually shiny appearance? They're almost prooflike, kind of like Canadian coins.

Can I just say I find it interesting how I got a 2015 US coin several months before some of you despite living far away from the US?

That is one of the reasons I was so amazed at getting the North Carolina coin last week. Not just because it's a 'D' mintage, but like you said; it almost looks like a proof!

Yup! But come to think of it, it might just be a Denver thing. The really shiny quarter I have is a D-mint. I opened a whole roll of them at work the other day. I didn't notice if they were Denver coins but probably were.

I've found around 30 2015 P pennies. Nickels I haven't seen. Only 2 2015 P dimes and lots of homestead quarters..

I noticed the Homestead quarter is unusually "shiny". I'm not sure why, but it does look almost proof like. Much more so than the others in the set so far.
