Another idea would be to start your own private coin grading business. You could name it JPCG (Joesph's Professional Coin Grading) or something. First, you would have to create a website and maybe some business cards/advertising. Then have people ship their coins to you house and you would grade them for a small fee. You would probably want to read about grading coins and then hire more people if your business got larger and more successful.

TCGS anyone?

This is what SsuperDdave was alluding to (not basement grading though) when he said you need to find a niche in the market and exploit it... like VSS for vams or BlueCC for photos or BadThad with verdicare... basement slabbers are just that as one would need a high level of credibility to start and sustain a legitimate & successful grading service

Before starting up your grading service with costs such as websites, advertising, and business cards, I would suggest by creating a reputation of master grader worthy of people paying for your opinion.

The open source idea of the gift culture or reputation as a currency applies here perfectly.

CCF provides you with an audience to display your grading chops to very rabid customers. Now you have to stand out from the crowd if you want to distinguish yourself. Don't tell me a coin is MS63, tell me why it is 63 and not 64 or even 63 plus or whatever. Edit the picture in graphics software and show your work so to speak.

Do this 10 - 20,000 times for free and you will have value to your opinion, how much value is up to you and the market.

Good luck.
