I just found my 1st Star note 2 weeks ago. A 1976 - $2.00 note # J00122677*. A lucky start in my search for interesting notes. I also found my 2nd Star note the other day. A much more common 2009A - $100.00 note # LL17826141*. I also found a 1950D - $10.00 note, a 1953C - orange seal $2.00 note (very beat up), a 1963 - red seal $2.00 note, & a 2013 - $1.00 note with the serial # F-03-02-01-00-D. I also have a handful of Trinary serial number notes of different denominations. Not a bad 1st 2 weeks in the hobby. So far everything I have is pulled from circulation.
Rest in Peace

@ImTBM

So, you are saying that you pulled all of these notes, including two star notes from circulation in two weeks?

Man, that is some serious good karma and or luck

The $2.00 bills I hunted one day. I went to 9-10 banks looking for half dollar/big dollar coins. While I was there I asked for $2.00 bills and anything they had that looked weird or old. I ended up with just over 100 - $2.00 notes to go through. I also searched through $100.00 worth of $1. notes. I was given the 1950D - $10.00 note at 1 of the banks. Besides that the rest came from going through every note I have touched. I got (2) 1988 $100.00 notes (from bank that day), and a 1990 $100 note. All 3 like new but common. A worn 1981 $50.00 note (from bank that day) & (3) Trinary notes ($10, $20, & $100). That + what I mentioned before is everything I have found to date. I will also admit to buying a few $1.00 coffees with $20.00 notes to go through the change, but I cant help myself...lol.

side note...the countdown ladder fancy serial number came from 1 of those coffee's. The 2 - $2. notes with colored seals & $2. star note came from the 110ish $2.00 bills I got to through. The 1953C orange seal is pretty destroyed with small missing corner/edge, writing on it, & worn to death. I just cant believe I found it still alive in its condition. The 1963 red seal is not as worn & not missing any pieces but it has enough creases & writing on it to destroy most if not all of the extra value. I just love that I found them & have them for now. Maybe I look back at some point wondering why I kept them. Maybe they become the foundation of a pretty cool little collection. I'm super new to this, super lucky (at least with the silver so far), & super hooked/addicted to all of this right now. Like I said on a different topic...I'm starting in the basement right now as far as my knowledge. I'm hoping with everybody's help I can get to the ground floor soon. Maybe 1 day I will be able to help a newbie the way everyone has been helping me.
Rest in Peace
