You all are so funny and correct! I have been a nurse for 26 years now and every bit of what you all have said (for the most part) is true. Why we all don't live in bubbles I'll never know! Handwashing is always a good habit---as long as it doesn't become an obsessive habit!
Just another bit of info to think about--I once heard a research physician and scientist speak about how we injur our immune systems--for instance--how many of you have worn gloves when giving your cat or dog a flea bath? That stuff in the doggy shampoo kills fleas--imagine what it does to your immune system. The same holds true for cleaning agents--do you think the manufacturers will place the true amount needed for cleaning on their instructions--this scientist said that they have found that the cleaning agents amounts are many times higher than really needed! Even the antibacterial wipes like "Clorox wipes" say to wear gloves when using. Think about all the times ,over how ever many years we are young, that we have used bleach to clean something or used solvents, etc without wearing protective gloves. Makes you think about taking precautions.
