Sadly, I don't have a unique story about the point of acquisition. Could have been found by my brother or me about 40 years ago. We used to go with the folks every Saturday morning to a restaurant for breakfast. Instead of eating, we were afforded about an hour to run to the local bank, buy a $50 bag of cents to search in the back of my dad's station wagon. We came across many great finds...but we had no idea. Just another hole filled back in the day. Only now do we recognize the value of the finds we made. Glad we did it back then!!

I love those Stone Mountain pieces! I lived there briefly when I was in college. I'd walk to the park there and hike up the 'mountain'. I need to get one of those for the collection at some point!

The stone mountain half is on my list too! I spent my first years just a few miles away from the mountain, then grew up on the other side of Atlanta. I just haven't been able to find a good example at a good price yet.
I couldn't even imagine getting one for face!

That was a terrific find O!! Glad it was in that nice of condition too! Finn - started in Stone Mountain and moved to Lawrenceville just north. Worked at UPS in Doraville sorting for metro Atlanta and surrounding municipalities. I still recall a number of the Atlanta area zip codes...hauntings perhaps!

Thanks guys. It came with a stash of wheat cents I got from the bank. I have a few more contributions for this thread but not for much longer.

Yinzi - You're one ahead of me! O-train - fire away when you have them. Always happy to see Canadian coinage in the mix (or US if that's what you've got). I'll be posting my 1920 Canadian cent when we get there. From my mix -

@Rackster #1925-S Wheat cent Wheats in the teens and 20's with a mintmark are tough to find.

Yes indeed. Going through my cent folder, lots of holes tracing back to 1909. Most are MMs. It'll be interesting getting over the 1922 hump.
