I soaked it in water for 24 hours, the paper came off and this is how it looked. I bought it for the obverse toning and this was a bonus. It made for a very unique coin! Lincoln Cent Lover! I especially agree that a design deserves thoughtful consideration concerning the wear on the coin.. for example, I am sure the designers of the second series of Queen Victoria British crowns (1880-ish) never gave it much consideration that Victoria would look bald before long..
