Yeah, I thought I read somewhere that there is a massive interest in counterfeit St. Gaudens gold coins.....and that they're NOT illegal to collect and they're STILL very expensive..
That's a careful/tricky business dealing with fakes and counterfeits though....I'm like Carl....if I've got one...don't know/don't care........And although I don't have his years of collecting....I too am never intending on selling ANYTHING I have.....it goes to my future heirs or future divorce settlement for the lawyers to sell, many different things....(kidding)...But I don't buy to sell or I wouldn't have bought it in the first place !
