Do you ever wonder the history of some of the older bars you have purchased? I still remember my first 10 ounce Jm bar as it had a rubber band mark across the back.

My guess is the owner died and a nephew sold it for some headphones.

I keep written records of all numismatic items with prices paid, just to give family some idea of what things are worth, so they don't get taken advantage of too bad hopefully. As far as bullion, that is the least of my worries, as they can always get a fair price for that.
