We have ended up on a blacklist that Yahoo uses so currently most yahoo emails from the forum are bouncing. So don't think that member that you're buddies with is currently ignoring you, they just must not be getting your mail.
I'm working on getting us removed. Sorry for the inconvenience.

The concept of Yahoo having a black list of compromised domains and senders of spam is hilarious!

The problem is that Yahoo are the only ones doing an old school news distribution group for free. So a lot of things I subscribe to are hosted out of Yahoo and you need a Yahoo account to manage your signups.
I suspect this (Yahoo groups) to be one of the things Verizon whacks when (if) the deal ever closes. With each disclosure knocking a billion off the price, it may not cost them anything when all is said and done.

This should be fixed now. I'm still getting some subscription bounces but when I click the post link they are from over 18 hours ago. So just late stragglers.

When I saw the title to this thread, I thought the first post would be: Quote: Why do you still have a Yahoo email address?

AOL is 100 times worse and people still use it.

Wow. I honestly thought AOL didn't exist anymore. I gave up years ago on Yahoo and their (at the time) non-existent spam filtering. But I understand people using them; if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

AOL has a spam filter that swallows things whole. It doesn't go to your spam folder and it doesn't bounce to the sender. Just vaporizes. I have AOL users argue with me all the time, they swear they get all their emails and I'm making it up. I left this topic up and use it as an example. I still go through this several times a month. I even put this in the registration form... People still use AOL and 95% of the new registrations that never get confirmed are AOL users.

AOL and (soon to be Yahoo) are owned by Verizon which seems to be trying to get the 1990s Internet band back together.

Verizon is supposed to be cutting edge and I cry every time I have to use their website. It's horrific.

I currently use Yahoo, but hey we still a little old school here in Montana. We are still using DSL through phone line for internet. Cell Phone? What is that? We still all have land lines. The closet thing to a cell phone I have is when the batteries are fully charged on my cordless phone. Then I can talk all the way(about 150 yards) to my mailbox!! Woohoo ain't technology great!!

I used to use AOL; that was about 20 years ago. I use Yahoo now because switching to anything else would require me to change my info on every single online account I have and I'm sure many would agree that's a hassle (I can't even remember passwords sometimes because I'm always logged in). I have a Gmail account only because I got Android phones but don't implement their email service.
I'm on Verizon (which in my location would weep at Sprint or AT&T's signal) but only because I'm grandfathered into the unlimited data plan that hasn't been available for a while. Currently, my wife and I have used 22GB+ of data and we're not quite to the halfway point in the usage cycle. I think at the most we've used near 100GB in a month. That would be hella expensive on current plans.
Of course, I live in an area where landline DSL is not available and the only option is satellite-based internet (shoddy and overpriced). Plus, I'm a few miles from a major IH and less than 50 from the biggest metro area of Texas; not exactly remote...
Ain't technology great?
