Thanks , Wilflower, this was informative.
So yes, this one isn't "Penny Maple Leaf" but the sequel of the 1/2oz SML with "inspired by Penny design". Annual, affordable, changing design, nicely designed - these items I like to get.

Checking out Charlton Vol 2, the $10 Maple Leaf series began back in 2013. Noticing lots of other appealing $10 NCLT and 34mm past releases that might be of interest as well to collectors who choose to accumulate a collection based on a common connection.

From the CC&C (this is about 2011 coin): " A tribute to Canada's iconic symbol, inspired by the timeless design that has graced Canada's one-cent circulation coin since 1937"

Who else thinks the 2017 Classic Circulation coin set will be a good buy? The designs won't appear in circulation this year, and with a mintage of only 75,000 sets, that would make each coin a key-date? I think I will be purchasing a few.

I think, it good buy, but not for resale purpose (too many).
For my opinion, the set is nice cause (i assuming) it only the source of all traditional designs dated 2017.

It's unclear what the RCM has in store for 2017 in terms of the sets it creates for collectors. They might issue a special edition "double" uncirculated set that includes a set of the traditional designs as well as the 150th anniversary designs. Or they might make two different sets available - "Classic" and "Commemorative." Who knows how many different ways uncirculated 2017 coins with the traditional designs will be available to collectors? I think all we know for sure is that the traditional designs will not be struck for general circulation. I won't be "stocking up" just yet.

No, a Key Date only refers to lower volume of circulation coin released into the public purse. Definitely not sold by RCM in any sort of package at a premium, huge difference. If you or I were to associate key-date to Uncirculated Sets in a room full of circulation collectors, we'd probably get laughted out of the room. Many do not even consider Uncirculated Sets (PL Sets) to be real money because they were minted for packaged ( gift) sets, not released into circulation at face value.

I agree, there'll be lots of options. From RCM's press release only a day or two ago - "To help mark the 150th anniversary of Confederation, over 40 different products will be issued as the Mint announces its monthly catalogues over the course of the year...." To add, although Special Edition Proof Sets are already being shipped, somewhere I recall reading that the special designed circulation coin wouldn't be released until this spring. The year has just begun....combo sets are very possible.

Between the Canada day set, birthday set, holiday set, welcome to the world set, etc., as well as the uncirculated set, there will be more than 75,000 available of most of the denominations. The loonie will have the lowest mintage.

It is too early to tell. There will be a ton of coins issued this year, probably a record number of issues. I'm expecting most will still be available at 2017 YE.
The local CP outlet still has a huge inventory of 2016 product (not sure where all of this will end up).

AlexA ... I have an idea where they will end up! Asyn, Dalhousie Auctions, The Shopping Channel, Rosalinda Earnshaw Liquidators ... 50% off list price! Sometimes the postal outlets will drop the price in-store by 30% before they send the Overstock to the liquidators.

I assume that they made a mistake with 200for200. Interconnection series - unusual choice, although I do not have them, I like the art, wish it would be crafted in silver, similar to the masks set.

Alert! Alert!
The updated piece of info came from the other forum, thank you, guys :
2 oz. Pure Silver Glow-In-The-Dark 4-Coin Subscription Animals in the Moonlight $189.95 per coin LIMIT 1 PER HOUSEHOLD 159919
The limit usually indicates, that the coin projected to be popular. So, who will be loading the 1-st in the series? (do not even think to do this with rest coins in the set)
