I have no idea how or why it was done. They aren't hardened. You can bend them away from each other. I dont know if it was accidental or intentional. I just didnt have the heart to get rid of them . Who's to love these hideous children if not me?

Canuckl - I am old enough to remember those Victorian pennies in change, and it was funny how often the date was the only thing legible. The deep exergue must have protected it.

Here's a Charles II silver Maundy penny with a rather big hole!
