Thanks Shane. How about a bulk order to save on shipping, and then distributed here from one of us. I will get them distributed here if that's O.K. with everyone that wants one. We need to conduct this by Private mail as the forum requires 50 posts to buy , trade or sell. If nothing else, perhaps we could work this out with Susan. I will talk with her late Sunday or Monday. A bulk buy can be arranged. I send a parcel to Richard Goodstien every month so I could send them to him or any other willing participant. I can also do the same with any Aussie coins the group wants to purchase.

Now that the book has been out for a while what are our final thoughts on the book.
I personally like it. It is an updated version from the 12ed.
It is not perfect (where some of those prices come from I will never know?)
However as a GUIDE it is fantastic.

I agree there are some errors but a lot of the errors are "verified" errors. In other words things like errors in mintages were from info supplied directly from the mint. Even though they maybe proven wrong you must publish information supllied by the source instead of "unverified" deductive reasoning. Renniks book also has similar errors.

I like it too, if we had one book that was perfect and upto date with exact prices.....well that would be a bit boring.
I like the book it is a good GUIDE.

Error, yes there are a few. The Australian Forum is actively helping reduce the errors by listing them all for Greg McDonald who has been active on that forum. So the next (14th) edition should be the best every Aussie guide. http://www.aussiecoins.net/forum/to...OPIC_ID=2387If anyone has spotted an error, list it here in this thread and I will ensure that Greg hears about it. He has asked that the errors be reported within the next month or two as later in the year he is extremely busy adding the new issues and getting the printer organised and everything else that goes into printing the book.

Just remember the purpose of this forum is to educate so if you have a problem with or find a problem with Maccas, list it for Greg to make changes, but do not be disappointed it your changes are not made. for Greg it is a business for us it is an addiction. Greg does a great service to the community by publishing this book, I would rather have this with the extra information he includes that have to rely on Krause or ebay. Thanks again Greg. for the rest of us I am glad you read the book so in depth to detect the errors. Most of us have posted on the Aussie forum about the errors - so if you have already posted there - stiring up the forum here will porvide no new advantages, but feel free to list the errors here as Greg visits here as well and will of course view what we post.

I would like to point out that I have seen very few reference books (or even recreational reading books for that matter) that don't have some errors in them. The 1901-Present Krause book 31st edition was so riddled with errors and missing information that you needed to have the previous edition in order to have a complete reference guide. However, this book is considered to be the best over-all world coin reference book.
By the same token, Greg MacDonald has done his best to continue to revise his book and keep it up-to-date which is no easy task with all of the coins that are continually being issued. His book is also known as the best Australian coin reference book. I think we need to be grateful that this book exists with the information that it contains rather than berate him for any errors.
The task of creating a reference book AND keeping it current is a monumental task. Anyone who is willing to attempt this for the betterment of the numismatic community should be praised and thanked rather than denigrated.
Further attacks on Mr. MacDonald will not be tolerated. I am very happy to have a nice mix of international collectors on this forum and I will not permit any comments or behavior that may jeopardize the relations between our members.
