If one buys from the RCM not through a rep, the largest RCM dealers have a 30% markup that's 30 bucks on a 120.00 coin, kid of a real difference of where a NCLT coin is purchased from. Was talking to my rep a couple days ago first time in months, finally purchased one of those clocks, he says he is extremely busy, go figure, most of us on this forum seems to have severely curtail RCM purchases, yet the rep says otherwise, they don't build them if no ones buys them.

@wildflowerAB

Let's remember the collector case was available to all on the RCM website last year. So aside from the MC tier hot button, the RCM could once again make it available to everybody anytime they choose to do so.

Just my Two Cents...

@Alex A

What do you mean that the collector case was available to all last year? The wooden one was for sale @ $129.00 and the MC case was given to those who reached a platinum level prior to their new "redemption code" rewards program.

Do no get what you are saying...must be on a slow brain day for me

If what you say is fact then maybe they should just stop selling direct to the public if it is all so problematic with free shipping and handling, accounting, rep commissions and so on when dealing with individual buyers like me.

RCM has chosen to allow an arrangement with select dealers to market newly released NCLT at the same issue price as RCM sells it for, so that says to me RCM has already determined that alternate delivery channels are desirable to a certain segment. Commissioned coins and the fast sellouts because RCM sells limited quantiles direct is another example of a close inter relationship with RCM. This is a win win for RCM. Those particular dealers are not in competition with RCM, they're simply an alternate distribution point. RCM, as the manufacture, still profits because they avoid costs associated with direct sales.

If everyone just stopped buying the RCM NCLT for even six month I can guarantee their attitudes and marketing strategies would change.

This sounds like when folks were talking about not buying gas on a certain day to show displeasure in prices.

I'm for some reason not miffed that they didn't extend the free case offer to me (Platinum Plus). I already have one which I think curbs my distaste for their inconsistent marketing.

Companies do this type of marketing all the time though.
Look at the cable companies, cell phone companies, credit cards and the like all offering deals to "New Customers Only" which is somewhat what this offer is.
This is RCM's way of trying to entice small spenders to reach a MC level. I'm sure MC membership is a key measurable for them and they're trying to not show a significant drop in it. The face value program going away is sure to have a significant impact on MC membership.

I'm a low tier now and didn't get this offer. Maybe it's to punish me for not buying as much as I used to.

The elimination of face value coin will drop many from MC status...but it's likely we'll beyond just those collectors falling out of MC levels
Curious to know how many dropped tier levels within MC status?
