I had a longer writeup but Chrome decided to freeze up and I lost it  I need to get this round going so here's the short version.  Dispite the fact that it is usually lumped in with coins of the Republic of Finland, this 1918 5 Penniä from was issued by the Reds (communist party) when they briefly controlled Helsinki and the mint in late winter/early spring of 1918. The mintage is 35000. Like in the previous round I hosted, you will be ranked in categories rather than earning points. Highest overall ranking wins. Ranked categories: - County/issuer (closest to Finland. Measured from Helsinki to capital city using Google maps.) - denomination (closest to 5) - Date (closest to 1918) - mintage (lowest) Bonus points - any of these will move you up one spot in one of the ranked categories: - Denomination is 5 and material is copper/bronze - size is 18mm (17.9-18.1mm) - The issuer only existed for a short time. (less than 10 years) keep this to governments or similar entities and not just rulers unless the two happen to be essentially the same. For example, a British coin issued when Edward VII was king does not meet this criteria. |

Best I can do at this time... 1917-S Buffalo nickel Not that close to Finland.  Denomination is 5.  One year off from 1918.  Mintage probably too high (4,193,000). Material is not copper/bronze, but is 75% copper. Size is too big (21.2 mm) Oh, the issuer still exists.  |
