due to the slight obverse weakness in strike I think it keeps it just short of 67. MS66 and a keeper for sure

They did. PCGS graded it MS-65.

seemed like too much chatter in the obverse fields to make 66 imho. still a great looking coin.

Wow, 65 seems way too low! You have a shot at getting it regraded to 66 IMHO.

Even at 65, it has such eye appeal you'de probably get 66 money for it.

I looked on PCGS photos of the 81s and found his coin. I emailed him and told him it was undergraded and should be a 66. This would be a nice candidate for a re grade

They hit it hard for the strike weakness and chatter (and date/mm) but it still should be a 66. Try to find a 65 that looks that good. Unless it was graded 30 years ago you won't. Back in the day of 60-63-65-67 MS grading this one was a MS65 and that was a long time ago.

I hope your MS-65 grade set example isn't as nice as these. It would be very misleading....
