U S A, to Mexico, 1659 ... this 'bit' started as an 8 reales, would have traveled back to Spain, traded to the Dutch East Indies company, who then took it to trade for spices & tea in Indonesia, where it was cut for change, & chop marked by the various merchants who traded it, then, who knows where else, ending up in my collection here in Tennessee... ... a well-traveled piece with a lot of history ...
