Venezuela, to Brazil ... a Brazil 960 reis struck using an 1807 Mexico city 8 reales as a planchet ... ...as a side-note, the Brazilian 960 reis was only accepted as legal tender in the newly formed USA, if it could be shown to have been struck on a Spanish 8 reales .. no other host coin was acceptable ... thanks, Hondo ... the underlying coin's details don't show well in the photos, but, they're there ... & since they are rather weak, they don't interfere with the reis' details much at all ... ...very nice 2 ouncer! Hondo ... Niue, to Chile  |
