Brazil, to Bolivia...

I thought I'd include (an attempted) diagram as to what the complete designs for this coin's obverse & reverse ...

...because of the way cobs were struck, all features never made the irregular planchets...

...these coins were actually bullion pieces, & the majority of 8 reales were melted & the silver re-used for other purposes, including the making of other countries' coins, silverware, jewelry, etc...

...the silver cobs were made for an easy way to divide huge silver shipments, with the lesser denominations circulating as coins... (1/2, 1, & 2 reales circulating, with the larger 4 & 8 reales being used as trade bullion) ...

...so, the more detail visible on a cob, the more desirable. ...

...Here's what an actual 8 reales cob, & the die patterns looked like for a Philip III 8 reales from the Potosi, Bolivia mint...

(the bottom shield details on my 8 reales are transposed ... the diagram is accurate / correct...)

From Uruguay to Zimbawe (Southern Rhodesia)

Stumbled across this thread while browsing for Coin Photography. I have taken this image using Axial Lighting, using Nikon D750 with Nikkor Micro 105mm, edited in Lightroom, adding meta data and then used a Phyton script to create the coin card.

Oops, I just realized that you can't get from Uruguay to Southern Rhodesia, so we are still in Uruguay.

The Rules.
1. The coin you post must share a border with the last country posted.
2. If the last country has a coastal border you may cross the water as long as it is a straight line on the globe without passing through another country or land mass (e.g. Antarctica).
