Exactly right, Centinal. The basic rule is to go to a bordering country or to some other country by traveling in a straight line (on a globe) without passing through another country. So from Guadaloupe you could go to any of the countries in Central America with a Caribbean coast (Guatemala is a tight squeeze but possible). But you could not go to Cuba.
