I hate to say it, but the way the coin is slightly cupped, plus the two round protrusions in the concave side make me wonder if this is not a coin, but a button? It wouldn't be the first time an 18th/19th century heavily corroded brass button has been mistaken for an ancient coin, especially if directly exposed to the elements.
