New Portuguese coin from a German seller: 2.5 euros 2014 commemorating Marcos Portugal (1762-1830), a Portuguese-born Brazilian classical composer.


It seems that hfjacinto bought a coin set from a German seller at the same time as I did. But I got my coin first.
Let's hope he gets his coin set soon.

This Friday afternoon, I went to the NH Coin and Currency Expo in Manchester, NH.
I was hoping to add more coins to my Birthyear Set and perhaps start assembling a Dansco Morgan dollar Type set. For that, I just wanted to browse the bourse floor and get an idea what is available.
Long story short, I was able to buy two world coins: a 1973 25 Paisha from Bangladesh and a 1973 10 Centavos from Peru.



Browsing the offerings of Morgan dollars, I noticed that most were in high-AU or MS condition. At those grades, a Dansco 7171 Morgan dollar date set would quickly become very expensive. Since I wanted to keep the cost down, I concluded I should stick to circulated dollars if I really wanted to assemble that set.
After walking the bourse floor a second time, a noticed a few very appealing Morgan dollars with "circulation cameo". At that point, I decided that a Morgan dollar date set with circulation cameo coins would actually be very nice.
Here are the first two I bought: a 1894-O and a 1901.

Note that I did not pay too much attention to the actual grade. Only the visual appeal of the coin mattered to me.
