Here is my fourth ancient coin (I ended-up winning 4 outta the 6 that I bid on) ... ROMAN REPUBLIC ANCIENT COINAGE C. Licinius Lf Macer Struck 83 BC. Rome Mint AR (Silver) Denarius. 3.39g. 20mm. Obverse: Diademed bust of Vejovis left, seen from behind, hurling thunderbolt. Reverse: Minerva in quadriga (four-horse chariot) right with javelin & shield; C LICINIVS L F MACER in two lines in ex. Nice VF. Ref. Licinia 16; Cr354/1; Syd 732. Awesome coin, eh? ... but that's it for a bit (I'll digest these four ancients => study them and plan my next impulse buy!)

Oops, sorry apeka => how rude of me => wow, those are extremely beautiful "world-coins" (maybe my next impulse buy will be to branch-out into a few different world coins!?) ... man, I love this thread ... and this hobby!

These just came in this week.......am tickled pink because they are my first ones. Hand carved hobo nickels. These are Grateful Dead designs, the artist said. My budget is very, very low otherwise I would have gotten some Buffalo nickel "hobo nickels". But I am still very pleased. They look better in hand. I have no talent and this work amazes me. Since I can't design, carve, draw, etc......that leaves me doing the "purchase end" of things.
