Congrats jizer1!

I'm still looking for a gold coin, a lot of gold jewelry, but no coins.

Eh-heh-heh

=> I am trying to nurse myself off buying coins for a few months, so I am offering-up these "latest acquisitions"

=> "TODAYS' MEMORIES"
=> I walked my two dogs with my friend Carly's dog ... yes, it is April 1st and we still have lots of snow on the ground ... but look how happy we were today! (priceless)

=> sometimes life just absolutely rocks, no matter what!

I heart coins!

Other than seeing some during a trip to the Getty Villa a few years back, I have not given much thought to ancient coins.

However, I have enjoyed seeing the ancient acquisitions in this thread.

Pretty coin, only 688 of them are graded at MS61. Good pickup.

Thanks, Steve, but plenty of it is far from that.
I enjoy picking low end darkside silver from melt tubs.
Below are some recent gleanings from one of my favorite sources. It's always cool to find 18th. century coins being sold for scrap. So far the oldest I have turned up was a 1759 2 reales.
Apologies for mediocre photo quality.
Also I have no idea what that tiny Arabic coin is.. it just looked odd, and old, so it got added to the pile.

Willing to share the source? I wouldn't mind dipping in

I bet it is rather Persian (Iran)

Where are you located? Are there no similar sources near where you are?
The competition for this one is already pretty stiff.
Most times I come home with a bunch of stuff I already have.
I would be very willing to do some swapping. I have accumulated lots of silver dupes. There is also a marvelous tub of non-silver stuff at this same source. I have only just started to pick through that mess.

I have three shops in the area, I was in heaven when I moved here 4 years ago. But since I've run them "dry" - rarely they have new stuff for me, and I try to avoid duplicates if I can help it.
