It's funny that when I take a break I end up missing things and they are either sold out or more expensive than issue date when I come back. Such as luck...lol

Sort of like what happens to me at coin shows. I walk around just looking at first saying I'll come back for that one later. Then when I do go back, it's gone.

Every year when the next hole to fill comes out I try and add a few to previous years I don't have. Money is always an issue for everyone. I try and balance it out by saving throughout the year and try and buy one of the more expensive coins, in hopes of preventing stalling out with a collection where I need 20 coins that cost $1000 plus. This way I chip away at the more expensive ones while adding the current year and a few others. I find it helps me stay interested. Although there is always 4-5 months each year that I put them away and come back the next year when the new year circulation coins start appearing. I also have a firm line drawn in the sand if exactly what I would like to accomplish in the end, what grades and at a cost that makes sense for my income.

I agree with others. Set it aside for a few months or more. You may end up finding something in your change or reading an article or passing a coin shop window and a spark gets lite again. I've been off and on for close to 30 years. I have had a lot more interest over the past 4 or so years since I became a member of a local club and the RCNA. This forum definitely helps as well. I used to collect other stuff but now it's just coins. I figure I spend enough money on this hobby so can't afford to add any more hobbies.
