Couple of questions;

Thanks all for reading and replying. Is the pvc contamination something that has occurred while in the plastic flip of ICCS or perhaps before being graded? Its an old 2 letter flip RO certificate.

What should I do with it? Is there a chance the entire coin surface could be contaminated?

Thanks in advance

I would have said AU58 as well,
and would have been wrong as well.
It's the toning that makes it difficult, because toning can hide tiny nicks, hairlines, and the tiniest amounts of wear on the high points of the design.

Because this is such a high grade coin, there isn't much you can do with it.

A long soak in acetone is about all you can do.

I agree with Coinfrog:- not much eye appeal for a 65.
That is why I prefer blast white coins in high MS grades.
But that is just me.

If we all kept blast white coins in air tight containers,
they would be more common than nicely toned MS equivalents.
Nevertheless, I still prefer blast whites.

Thank you sel_69l!
I am also a fan of blast whites even though they are hard to come by. I did not see the PVC contamination at all...live and learn
