I don't remember a coin from this group of islands before. It must be island year, I played those 2 in a row, Ed just had one, now this one, maybe more, but I'm not searching.

Thanks for the fun coin mcshilling. It ran them 18 questions, not to shabby. It was fun hosting the 1st "lurkers coin" round.

trig, big braggin' rights if you can tell us the island it left to end up in my hands. Have a go. Then mcshilling can fill us in.

What is fun about this coin is that since 2010 the issuer, "The Netherlands Antilles" no longer exist. But, because Curacao and Saint Maarten keep postponing the introduction of a new currency, they just keep minting this one!

Great info Ed. Had a feeling you would like it. Actually thought it would be you to get it.

Yes it came from Curacao just a couple of weeks ago my daughter was there on vacation and they went to a fish market and bought a tuna and mahi-mahi with some shrimp and took them back to the hotel and had them cooked up. They paid in US and got back a hand full of change. I still have a couple of the 1 guilders.

as far as I know, Belize is not an Island

Belize has plenty of inhabited islands, therefore if the coin was issued in Belize it was issued on an island..

Smarten up. If it has a mainland , it is not an island nation. You'll never sway me to think otherwise.

I think Oz, would correct with this.
We really should be asking if the coin was issued in an island nation.
