Or an encased postage stamp. Exonumia, who'd a thunk it? Pretty sly, Spruett.
It's awfully cool, though.

Congrat's on the win sprue. Congrat's to the guessers for such a good run of wins. We knew this day had to come some time.

Well, I'm sure some players will dispute whether this actually counts, although the concerns should have been raised earlier and maybe could have been addressed. In the end, you guys had the exact type narrowed down with one question remaining, there were just too many options. It's essentially like having 45 dates of the same coin to choose from (or 22 after the last question). Of note, as well, is that several questions were essentially wasted on unimportant info or info that could have already been deduced (like the shape) without actually asking the question.

Anyhow, I have already chosen the next coin. This one should be controversy free. It's just a cool coin.

Does the coin have a fountain on it?

No hints?

if that's not a hint I don't know what is
The Art Fountain in Fürth or Nassauer Haus? Nassauer Haus in #23

There are quite a few with fountains, basically anything with "Brunnen", Wasser Speier, Gänse Männchen... I just gave that as an example because there are fewer than those with buildings.

What's dirty? I wasn't obligated to give any information other than what was asked in yes or no questions coming from participants who had not already been disqualified. The fountain idea came from me, but I did not say it was a hint. What you all take as a clandestine hint is up to you. If I'm not mistaken, the only possibilities with the correct Menzel # and a fountain were the two you mentioned (Kunst Brunnen & Nassauer Haus) along with "Gänse Männchen." It would never have been my intention to narrow it down that far as a hint. Even when I said something was a hint, it was misunderstood. Yes, the "below 90 NRI" was a hint useful at the time to exclude the two Regensburg issues. The "bratwurst vs. wine preference" hint was not a hint, and that was the hint! That meant that the Bratwurstglöckl was not the answer. I announced both of those as hints.

Through the course of the last round, I actually gave more meaningful info than is technically required. The question leading to the "coin not dated" information could have simply been answered with a "No" and you would all be pulling your hair out wondering what the date is on the coin? When would someone have finally asked if the coin had no date? That was a tremendous piece of unsolicited information that I gave very early in the round.

As mentioned already, I ignored the obviously incorrect question about being from Switzerland and also the question about it being a Trade dollar. I also let your question (Gincoin) count for the final question even though the rules say that once you guess incorrectly, you're out:

Quote:
keep in mind that if you guess wrong, you're out for the round!

Out means out and I, at a very minimum, take that to mean you cannot ask official questions that directly affect the game. Does anyone disagree and why? The rules also do not clarify what is acceptable as a "coin." I disagree with mine being a "token" for several reasons, not the least of which is how it is listed. Numista has an entire section devoted to tokens and you can find many rail/subway tokens there. Mine is considered Notgeld, which is really a class in itself. Some say they are tokens, some say coins. That's why I relied on Numista's classification. Yes, it could be wrong, but that's not a very strong defense in claiming that my entry was illegitimate.

If you care this much about the way in which the round was run, you should have expressed your concerns earlier (like when you knew what it was but didn't say you considered it a token). You also should have waited to guess. Joecoin guessed even earlier with many questions remaining. James asked three useless questions. Once "Notgeld" and "No Date" was established, any date questions were a waste. When you knew it was not round, asking if it is octagonal was a waste. And @joecoin, if you had an issue with the metallic content questions, it should have been brought up at the time and I would have remedied it. I would have clarified and possibly allowed an additional question. I'm not in the business of cheating people.

After all that, though, why are the concerns just popping up? Look, I have run many contests here over the years with actual prizes that I paid for and I always attempt to keep things as fair as possible and the rules as clear as possible. I'm not doing anything different here.

Let's please carry on to the next one. I'm not giving any hints for this one. It should be easy enough.
