I think that might leave us just with the Ottoman Empire and Persia, a small region Russia was trying to claim(Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan ect) some coastal caliphates/Sultanates and maybe Cyprus.

Is this coin from a region primarily south of the Gulf of Aqaba?

13. This coin was not used in a region primarily north of the Caspian tiger's range.* This never happened and is awaiting replacement text.

*Using the range of a certain animal is sketchy at best, but the map on Wikipedia is what I used to answer the question:

They were only called Barbe Mazandaran in Mazandaran. I thought it made it fairly clear but perhaps it was not though I was careful NOT to ask about the Caspian tiger's range; I did really want to but That would have been particularly foolish as they are genetically identical to Siberian Tigers.

Edited to not be gibberish (I hope)

I want to be fair. I agree that this animal had that name in only one area, but it is the same animal as in other areas with other names, nonetheless. That's not even why I thought using their range was sketchy, but it adds another layer.

It seems that the difference between the interpretations is geographically important, so I propose a mulligan. Question #13 was bad luck and is stripped from the record books!

Feel free to ask again with less ambiguity.
