Before I waste another question, the "from" the Americas answer isn't sitting well. That's not an answer to me. If anything, it raises more questions than it answers.

Any advice?

8 questions in and looking lost. We know the date range is 1931-1958. This should hold a lot of info, we just need to dig it up. So it's not an old empire coin. Gotta look toward modern empires. France is out.

The island question is a funny one too. Sounds like it 'may' have been used on an island, but not intended to be.

It is what it is. We'll get it.

keith, what are you thinking with the US mint.

Was this coin around to see D-Day?

France still had some overseas possessions in 1958.

All that bread ,cheese , and pastries and you think of soup?

This coin is not French
Nor a non-circulating commerative
"From" the Americas
Does not bear the name of a south American nation
And it's issuing country is not in North America
Minted between 1931-1944
Not intended specifically for an island

The Canadian mint produced coins for The Dominican Republic in 1938. That's the only non Canadian coinage minted in Canada in the date range of 1931-1944.

Except for Newfoundland.

I'm pretty sure it could have been used on an island, but the place it was minted for is not an island.
