I really thought you guys would have guessed it by now. But it seems a lot of questions were wasted early on narrowing down the country of issue. Edit to add: since there are about 15 coins left to guess, it should be possible to do this with a max of 4 questions (2log15 = ~ 4).

I didn't realize the older dimes were over 18mm, so I think you're right, but I count 18 options with varieties (14 without). Quote: seems a lot of questions were wasted early on narrowing down the country of issue. I disagree. I think we got it relatively quickly compared to recent rounds. Just because it's from the US doesn't mean it's a slam dunk. There are still hundreds of years of many denominations, mintmarks and varieties to wade through.

Quote: What about 52 & 53. Or did I miss something Wasn't Western Union founded in 1851? That means this coin can't be dated later than 1850.

Technically Western Union was established in 1856. The parent company started in 1851, and that's what I ran with. Otherwise it would have been a double question, as 1856 was already known.

Okay, I think we're down to seven coins: 1844-1850.
