Yes, this coin was issued in an area that is part of present day China.

I think within this answer is a hint. I know China has a tumultuous history. The coin might come from an area of "present day China" that at some point in time wasn't part of China. I might be reading too deep into it but thought I'd throw it out there.

Research is done, now I have to formulate a question.

I think we are looking good with 8 left.

Hi Silver Nickel, nice to have another Canuck on board.

Lets rock and roll. I'm thinking it is a 1 Cash. I can't see any higher value Cash in the date range.

Is the diameter of this coin 24mm?

keith, you missed it. Silver Nickel, just to cut you in, don't use question marks like normal punctuation here. Some Game Masters have been known to include non-coin questions, if there is a question mark at the end. We use periods and read between the lines. ONLY use a question mark for a real game question that will be counted. . PS. you may want to edit your last post before joe shows. .

hey loonielewy, I've been looking at this forum for a while now and looks pretty fun, its defiantly some cash coin. I can't think of anything else it could be accept maybe a Pul, but I doubt it.

Edit: I tried to write Pul with a u having a Macron but instead it came out #363;

Here's how I'm seeing it. Once I started digging, the Numista pages flew by using 1790 as the anchor. All I found was 3 pages with possible coins.

When you go to Numista, just click "China" 1st one. I had 265 pages come up. I found coins on page 30, 31 and 1 on 91 that contained 1790. Some are smaller and bigger than 24mm (last Q). The next answer will tell.

We may need to confirm it is a 1 Cash with a true question though. Unless we all agree. It's still pretty muddy, but getting clearer.

keith, I'm in for the 1st time this coin was minted was 1736 or later, up to or past 1790. Agreed.
