This is my prospective country list. Many of these would be divided into smaller individual issuers, but I thought a more general list would be a better starting point. Albania Austria Bohemia Bosnia Bulgaria Byzantine Empire Croatia Crusader & Christian States Denmark Estonia France Germany Hungary Italy Livonia Low Countries Luxembourg Moldavia & Wallachia Montenegro Netherlands North Macedonia Norway Ottoman Empire Poland Portugal Rus Principalities Serbia Spain Sweden Switzerland United Kingdom I think we're gonna need a bit of luck on this one...

Quote: I think we're gonna need a bit of luck on this one... Agreed. :) If we remove the countries that are on the Mediterranean sea, we end up with these... (note that Adriatic sea is considered an arm of the Mediterranean sea.) Austria Bohemia Bulgaria Denmark Estonia Germany Hungary Livonia Low Countries Luxembourg Moldavia & Wallachia Netherlands North Macedonia Norway Poland Portugal Rus Principalities Serbia Sweden Switzerland United Kingdom

The Netherlands can be removed from the list as it didn't exist as an entity before 1581. From 1384 to 1482 that area was part of the Burgundian State (which itself seems to be missing from the list). Scotland needs to be added to the list as well as it was an independent kingdom until 1707.

My list is based on how coins are listed in Numista. Burgundian Netherlands is under Netherlands. Scotland is under UK. See: Quote: Many of these would be divided into smaller individual issuers, but I thought a more general list would be a better starting point.

Anyone have any thoughts.
I don't like our chances with this one.
In the mean time let's see if we can half the date range.
Was the coin issued before 1354?

Quote: To be fare, this question mentions no list. After all that work put into making a list, good job sprue, now you want a fare! . I got a bus pass...will that do.... . So we will assume you answered the question using just the alphabet. This will cover the "missed" countries A-M as well as the names on "the list". So the country name starts with a letter from N-Z. May or may not be on the list. . I just went back and see I'm barking up the wrong tree. The country is not on the list, but starts with A-M. The answer was edited.
