My guess is 2004 Canada 25 cents - Silver Remembrance Day.

I'll guess Canada - Non-circulating coin : 60th Anniversary of the Liberation of the Netherlands
Silver (.925) • 5.90 g • #8960; 23.9 mm

Beautiful coin, and I used it's sibling here before, but sorry joe, not the coin.

Yes.

I chose this coin for the story behind it. This coin was only available in the 2004 Mint Annual Report. It was in the top right hand corner of the cover page of the report. 2004 marked the 1st circulation coloured coin in Canada, and this was a celebration of that. This one is the hot rod silver version with a gold plated poppy instead of colour. Mintage is around 12,650. I needed this coin as soon as I found out about it.

That's a nice looking piece I must admit. Pretty sneaky how the mint marketed those. Do they do that sort of thing often?

joe, I haven't kept up on these type of coins, but I do know they had a cent fill the same hole in the cover page of another year. My guess is from 2012 when the cent was eliminated. I've seen both in the report in person, but mine was removed before I got it. There may be more. .

Nice coin and well done Spruett. :)

I see there are a few selling on ebay for around AUD$75,
I thought they might be more than that.

Steve, I got it years ago and can't say the actual price I paid, but it was less than 20 bucks Canadian that's for sure. It really is gorgeous.

The circulation coin, had a field accepting of colour, meaning crevasses for the ink. This one has a full strike poppy flower. The plating really makes it show.

Loonie, I have the circulation coin and yes, the gold plated one looks a lot nicer.

I see the one I have here as the benchmark for the intended orientation of the flower. The coloured ones are hither tither, but would be too expensive to orient before stamping, so it's to be expected. I would pay a premium for a coloured coin with the same orientation. I have MS examples, but not oriented the same.
