1. It is a coin I recently received in change, not exchanged. 2. This coin was not around in 1900. 3. The diameter of this coin is greater than 25 millimeters. 4. So...we better use that clue at the beginning..."received in change".... We need to find a coin the same size as an American issued one. Bigger than 25mm.
