The Keepsake card is at the PO today. Has the price of the keepsake card has a gone up a couple of dollars compared to 2020 cards?

$4199 is way too high for a 1 oz NCLT coin considering you could get a 1 oz gold coin for around $2500. Undoubtedly the fact that some gold coins have trouble selling out made the RCM adjust the prices of gold coins.

Also the gold Caribou and Grizzly are still available at $4499. Pretty easy to figure why.

Yup the 3 Twoonie keepsake cards from 2020 were $22.95. A $2 increase over 100,000 units = $200,000 potential revenue increase if fully sold.

It will go somewhat to offset the loss of the potential $90,000 ($200 drop in gold 1oz for 450 units). Of course numbers assume both products sell out.

Actually today's price at VBCE is $2,392 for a maple. With a 1.6x uplift (historical average for RCM gold) that is $3,837... $3,999 is still high but much closer.

@vonigohcr: Thanks for the July update!

A bit more history related to the insulin commemorative coins:

As the new coins highlight, the therapeutic benefits of insulin were discovered in 1921. It was achieved by two doctors working in Toronto, Canada - Frederick Grant Banting and John James Rickard Macleod. It was first used with a patient in January of 1922 after months of animal testing.

Banting and Macleod received the 1923 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for their work.

I find it interesting that the Insulin Keepsake Card Set contains an uncirculated double dated 10 cent coin whereas the Gift Card and Classic Uncirculated sets have the single dated 10 cent. On the RCM web site there no mention in the write up for the insulin set that the 10 cent would be double dated. The large picture for the 10 cent from that set shows a single date whereas the picture of the entire set shows the 10 cent as having the double date.

The Mint is authorized to strike a dual-date ten-cent coin with the Bluenose design for circulation; colourized and plain versions have been authorized (Privy Council Order 2021-0393).

Obviously, one of the graphics on the Set's sales page is incorrect but maybe the Keepsake Set image is the correct one and an uncirculated dual-date Bluenose circulation-strike coin will be included.

I can confirm the 2021 Birthday Gift Set and 2021 Classic Uncirculated Set, both have uncirculated single date 10 cent coins. I can also confirm the Insulin Keepsake Set has the double dated uncirculated 10 cent.
This is the first time for 2021 we have seen the double date with Queen E. Prior double date 2021 10 cent coins had King G VI. For 2021, we now have the following 10 cent coins
single date, specimen with Queen E II
single date, uncirculated with Queen E II
double date, uncirculated with Queen E II
double date, proof plated steel with King G VI
double date, proof silver with King G VI
