Vermontensium I like placer nuggets too, but only as curios. Especially big ones. Dealers discount them heavily when buying, at least 25% below bullion. My current supplier sells them for 10% under bullion if they have obvious impurities like dirt and quartz.

I've got some smooth ones from California that were probably hydraulicked from ancient riverbed deposits near Redding, and rough ones that were probably Klamath River dredged recently. I also have some probably from Australia, judging from the red dirt inclusions.
