Doing this to preserve these keepsakes for your grandfather will be worth every last Half Cent. I, too, slabbed a few of my ancestors coins. It's kept them safe and reduced a lot of the stress in letting my younger kids hold the coins. We look forward to whatever ends up on the label because we are nerdy that way. But even more, just happy they are in good hands and can be passed along to the next generation with some stories.
