I think the packaging has a lot to do with how coins tone. When it comes to the two 1960 proofs with crazy vivid toning - I think the toning is legit. The chuckle is the ask prices.

Again, the colors on these 1960 proofs are consistent with what has been see elsewhere. It just so happens that these are the most vivid samples I have seen yet. Because the colors are so vivid and spectacular, does not automatically mean AT.

NOT market acceptable toning. This is an exploitation of the TPG lax policy on proofs known to tone in their original mint packaging. The sad part is the failure of PCGS to recognize this coin has been messed with. I own and have bought and sold many toned 1960 LD proofs - the real deal coins are very easy to recognize and they look NOTHING like this.
