West Point was temporarily shut down due to COVID-19 issues, and "emergency" production - to keep up with demand - was temporarily shifted to Philadelphia and San Francisco. That is why the (P) is in parentheses. without a mint mark to indicate where it was minted, the location is determined from which mint the unsealed boxed was shipped.

This is a great post. For the type 1 eagles, I have most of the rare ones with the exception of the 1995-W. I likely won't be getting that one. I've started a collection of the type 2's and have all annual mint direct issues (bullion exluded) on subscription. I was a child in 1986 and of course had no money to start a collection (girls were all I thought about) and by 1995, I had no money for the gold / 1995-w collection.
I'd love it if the mint came out with a 4 coin Platinum set + 4 coin gold Set with a limited edition LOW mintage silver eagle. Maybe like a 5 or 10K mintage. I think that would be awesome, most collectors couldnt afford it but for those of us that can it would be the crown jewel of a collection.
