Love those Maples, especially the reverse proofs. Great Canadian bullion coin. 2023 selectively gold plated. Edited by Sharks

Beautiful 2023 Maple Leafs, Sharks! Did you obtain them directly from the RCM? |

@ NumisEd No, from my LCS. I was surprised, as the online dealers I usually buy from had none in stock. Very little haggling on price. Just checked again & Colonial Acres Coins has them: "2023 Canada $20 Ultra High Relief Silver Maple Leaf with Selective Gold Plating (No Tax)" The RCM is sold out, mintage of 8,000. (both coins) Edited by Sharks

A mintage of 8,000 seems ridiculously low to me.

From the RCM site: Quote:
(SOLD OUT) $20 Pure Silver Coin - Ultra High Relief 1 oz. SML, $149.95 CAD, Silver, 2023 Mintage, 8,000
New for 2023, yellow gold plating emphasizes the Ultra High Relief on this extraordinary SML. ..... On the coin's reverse, selective gold plating adds a celebratory gleam to the SML on its 35th anniversary, and highlights the 1.4 mm peak relief height first introduced on the 2022 UHR SML.
I suspect the mintage is somewhat based on previous purchases of similar numismatic SML coins. I doubt there are many collectors of these coins. They certainly are not for bullion stackers at that price for one ounce of silver. Sorry, I didn't mean to hijack GLB49's Random Silver Coins Topic, I really am impressed by his collection & pictures. More, please.Edited by Sharks
