I have a small case going into a small safe so I don't have enough space for capsules going into a tube. That's why I wanted to put bare Krugerrands in a tube. It takes about twice less space...
Newer 1 oz gold have very small lettering 'krugerrand" as you said as a security feature, you can see it with a magnifier. I don't know if the lower gold denominations have it. Other bullion also have tiny security features as Britannia, Canada Maple Leaf. USA 1 oz gold Eagles have a missing reed on the edge but it's not very secure, easy to copy. You can use the search line in your browser to find out more about bullion security features.
To glove or not to glove is a personal choice, to each their own. I don't use gloves with my ancient coins but do when buying and moving valuable modern coins from their packaging into their new home.
