Quote: Are we missing something... No Quote: My guess is Tombac 1920 75 Pfennigs N#317619 Trig guesses my rarest coin in my collection that I was pleasantly shocked when I bought this coin on its stats on numista, aka 25 struck. Also my coin has a couple of die markers as in a die Crack on the E of the name Alfred which is on the numista photo and has light clashing to the left of the head.

Nice coin Mrit and a great acquisition. Just shows, we can't rule anything out. Where did you find this coin and how much did it cost?

Good job everyone. Really cool coin Mrit! Besides numista, scouring various random internet sources, it appears that only about 200 or so of these pattern coins were ever minted/issued and only a few dozen known to have survived. Quote: Where did you find this coin and how much did it cost? Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks for playing this one. Interesting ... There are only 519 coins, tokens, medals composed of Tombac listed on Numista... not a very popular alloy for coinage it seems. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/in...t=&u=&g=&se=

I of course bought this coin off of whatnot about a year and a half ago in a page of 16 different Aachen pieces from a dealer in California who didn't do to much with foreign coins. Bought the lot of 16 for $9.00 US so pretty cheap so ~56c each. One will find four validated Aachen items I put on numista recently from those 16 items, one coin, one undenominated, and probably two contemporary counterfeits which were surprising from the referee helping validate these.

That was a bargain. I was wondering if it might have been a plated zinc version, as they are so rare.
