I believe it to be the 71D RPM-002, with part of the re-punched mint mark not showing because of circulation damage. Here is a photo of the 71D RPM-002 in my collection. I think mint mark position can vary depending on photos.

Thank you for your reply atrox001! I use your photo to compare with mine, and I believe the location is not the same as yours, I don't know if my eye are tricking me but the shape looks different as well. Please check the image and let me know your thoughts.

It does look like the position of the mint marks are not the same, that means you don't have the RPM-002.

Really neat find, and great discussion. =)
I think part of the challenge here is that the catalog image of RPM-002 is not wide enough to set the frame, and the bust is partly in shadow.
To me, it looks like a different RPM—acknowledging the bump that flattened the top—but I would also argue that purely on the basis that a huge mintage like 1971-D 50¢ probably has more than three strong RPMs in circulation.

Atrox001, Thats my thoughts, when I searched on VV I also thought I have 002, but after I compare de distance and the shape, I realized that it may not be the same. Thank you Brandmeister! RPM, are difficult for me to recognize them. So I'm trying to learn how to identify it. Thanks to all for the nice replies!

Excellent find Gigi. And I agree it doesn't match to RPM-002.
Gigi, in your original closeup (excellent image BTW), I'm wondering if the diagonal line (NW-SE) through the middle of the MM, is part of the secondary MM.
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

I would think this half dollar would not be a good candidate for a new listing. There is just too much circulation damage on the mint mark.

Thank you Petespockets55! I'm not sure about your question, but I think I have a better images so I will attach them here, so you can see them Atrox001, Thank you for your honest opinion. Well maybe Tanman2001 will let me know if he still considers if this is good for a new listing.

I still think it would be worth getting looked at. It's not a perfect example with the slight circulation damage but I think the upper serif is clear enough to be able to determine if it's a RPM in hand.
