The basement is a good place, consistent temperature. However, you'll need to layer-up the protection. I recommend storing the albums in these with some desiccant and a sacrificial cent loose in the bag:

I would soak the SVDB in distilled/deionized water for 5 minutes, then, while still under water, gently try to dislodge the verdigris with a toothpick. Remove, rinse with fresh water and let it dry. The verdigris looks early/mid stage - it may come right off.

Badthad thanks for advice I will try your recommendations. But if that doesn't work I order some verdi care I'm sure I'll need it before this is all done .
