Some time ago someone came out with something called VHS tapes. Then there was Beta. Then stores poped up everywhere selling and renting them. Then grocery, hardware, general stores and the internet started selling them. All I'm trying to say is with the coin market so big, people everywhere are popping up with stuff dealing with coins. Even the US Mint has gone nutty producing every possible coin possible.
If you look up in Google the words coin grading companies, you would find there are probably over 100 of them and the amount is growing. And some are noted as a guy in his basement doing this. Eventually, just like VHS tapes, coin slabbing will be as common as Hot Wheel cars at Walmart. Actually, I suspect Walmart WILL be grading coins soon and/or selling stuff so everyone can grade coins.
