Wish I had been a collector of IKES in 73, I was 15...it is a great year, with high relief.
Side bar..I see Full IKE sets in Dansco's selling for only about 150 now, I suppose due to silver being so low...I got one for 150..WITH the MS & PR IKE Commemorative's to boot on last page..none of the coins were junk, and, 1 1973-P has a pretty good possible Double Die, strong enough to hopefully Not be MDD, so common. Anybody interested in Varieties of IKES needs to find a copy of the out of print IKE Book done for Coneca by James Wiles, as it is in a language we can understand, and, explains in depth the differences between TRUE Hub doubling, Series Doubling, Master Die Doubling, and more, with good pics. Sorry to say, won't mention the name, but, the one IKE Site, with 10,000 pics on it, I cannot make heads nor tails of what is what..just too confusing...My DREAM IKE site, is a site JUST LIKE the VAMWORLD site, with the Year, and mint mark clickable boxes that open up all known varieties in order..first found to newest discovery, and, a numbering system(Ikegroup.info DIVA # seems the best I've seen) that is universal, and, accepted by all..hey, I can dream, can't I?
