If I can get them into PL slabs I think they'd be worth quite a pretty penny. PL ikes are hens teeth rare from what I can tell

If you get them into PL slabs then you will officially be forever known as a LEGEND around here. Yes, officially! Man, I really hope this happens. Good luck!

Remember. . . . . . it could happen!

Legend? Really darth? I know they're rare but its no prototype. And don't you agree they should at least make PL? The crisp mirrors at 3" are obvious but they start to blur at 5-6"

Is that your coin?! Or is that THE 1, only one actually, I could find online and I think that was an IG thread without pics of I remember correctly. Seems like I have the right date though

Wait that's a PCGS slab?! I thought PCGS doesn't slab one PL's?

Cascade- I think you're underestimating the true rarity of a PL business strike Ike. No, they're not the "holy grail" in the same sense as the prototype, but the premium one of these would command would be significant. Just the idea of a PL business Ike is tantalizing because, in theory, it would probably be one of the first coins struck. Then it would have needed to be saved for all these years. Even getting one attributed as such would indicate that the stars were aligned properly. LOL. I photoshopped the PCGS PL Ike. Why wouldn't PCGS attribute a PL business Ike if there really was one?

The word is that only NGC will attribute an ike as PL. Not sure why but I think PCGS really only reserves PL for Morgan's for some reason. These came from my huge lot last year that was supposedly an SDB stash. Think I'll be dropping them off at the NGC table at Long Beach for regular servive.

Here's all I could find on researching PL ikes...

Ok. Something must be wrong with jbuck or the jdar is on the Fritz. Those PL's should have pinged on it like an incoming ICBM

So brace yourselves, I did something today that will blow your mind.

While my 8176 is complete and will never be upgraded, it has been a long-term goal of mine to build a high-end Eisenhower dollar set. That goal has perpetually been "a few years away" (and ultimately may still be), but today I laid the foundation.

What follows are seller's photos. By the way, that seller is Dad (Bobby) and he made me an offer I could not refuse.

These may or may not end up in a Capital Plastics holder. For now they will remain intact.

(Yes, you heard that right!)

Since my Dansco is complete, these are not needed to fill any holes. Leave no doubt in your mind, these would get cracked if they were a pair of early dollars for the 7070.

Awesome jbuck. That is what I'm working on as well. Are you doing the proofs as well as the business strikes?
