I only keep them if they are BU. There's been so many hoarded in BU there's no point to saving anything less.

I have plenty of rolls of these things, but I must admit, I do throw them in the "save" container when I run across them. Hey, it's only a cent.

Another vote for only saving the very best BU versions I find. I was saving all of them earlier, but have a few Mint rolls of both P and D along with the mint sets. I'll build some BU mixed rolls and bundle them into ebay auctions later on.....not expecting to get rich though. lol.

Yep.....I "chuck back into the wild" most of the LP1's, 2's, and 3's I find, because they've just gone to heck in a handbasket so fast !....but the only thing I wouldn't be "picky" or "choosy" with, would be the 2009 P or D Nickels or Dimes !!......I'd take those in ANY condition ! ......

Last years Cents were saved in great numbers I'm sure....but there will also be alot of them that will be put back into circulation by these same folks in due time. (many people only save them "for awhile" until they realize that they aren't going to get rich....and they've made their albums or the kids have spent them, or they need gas money, or that new music CD or DVD, or that new Sony Playstation 4 game....whatever.....there will be a "return to the wild" in due time of MANY THOUSANDS OR MILLIONS OF THESE SAVED '09 Cents !) IMHO

a roll or two of BU is definitely worth keeping. I reckon "worth" is in the hands of the collector. I like the 1909 - 2009 centennial construct.

i keep any 2009 or 2010's in condition from Ag to unc. when I'm 60, they will be almost 50 years old. they COULD be valuable then. (unless the world explodes) and most of my 2009's are in great conditions. just a couple of darker ones

Collect what you like and what you can afford. If you like a coin, collect it.

In the past month or so I have found all 4 of the 2009's in circulation as change.

BadThad: I only keep them if they are BU.

I've saved a few really nice AU's, because I figure that they will be
a lot rarer than BU's in the future. And as The_Duke says,
"Hey, it's only a Cent!"

The standout of my AU 2009 Cents is an LP1 that's turned an attractive
shade of red-brown! It's a 2009-D zinc. I almost thought it was a
broken-out copper Cent at first, due to the even browning....
