I guess I will have to agree to disagree.
My bank branch does not allow us behind the counter to carry the boxes for them. It requires two tellers to go to the coin room and retrieve a box of coins for me. It is rare that they would have a box of pennies if I walked in unannounced. Any other denomination the answer is definitely not. I have to order my boxes. To have two tellers take in my box only to bring me another one of the same thing, and taking the time to fill out twice the paper work is something I just can't bring myself to do.

But I agree with the rest of your comments.

Edit: They call it the coin room but from what I can see it is simply a big metal box inside the safe with the safety deposit boxes. I don't know for sure because we are not allowed behind the counter.

They are not supposed to keep any coins but last week she brought me home $30 in Wheaties rolls (60 rolls) one day and $29 (58 rolls) in rolls the next day.

The reason for this is before you know it, tellers are getting paid by the hour to sort through coins and ignore customers. A quick grab-and-replace, especially by a teller with decades of experience, can be overlooked.
