The Series 1996 notes are a dying breed.. I rarely see them anymore.. But then again, I don't go through much cash, either ;P lol..
I've never asked about mutilation finds.. I should probably try that.. They aren't required to turn them in to the feds?

Ok, so, how old are we talking here? Yesterday, I got a series 1999 $5 in change, at the grocery store. Serial #: BF 00711322 A. Printed 12/99. I looked it up, and it's a very common (96 mil) run. To add to that, it's the style that I don't particularly like (large portrait, no color). However, it is in extremely good shape for it's age. It has some very, very minor wear, but the paper is still bright, and crisp. I would say it's Ch-cu. How does a note this old, stay in this good of shape? I find that very interesting. I think I may set this one aside, just for being a survivor.

I found a 1950 silver certificate $10 around 1995. My oldest since then were 4 $50s from 1977 I got when turning halves into the bank 2-3 years ago.

I got a 1985 F-N dollar in a batch of 80 from the bank today. It's probably in vg condition. I should probably start posting pics, eh? Gotta learn sometime, I guess...

Sure! F-N is the block of the dollar bill, which means its serial number begins with an F and ends with an N.

Ok Thanks, I've collected just about all of the different denominations from $1.'s to $ 100.'s and different types of currency such a SC's, GC's, USN's, most all of the WW 2 special issues notes and the FRN's by the series year but never collected by block letters. The Bill Collector
